Thanksgiving/わたしの かぞく

わたしは　とても　大きい　かぞくが　います。わたしの　かぞくに　ちちと　ははと　いもうとひとりと　おとうとさんにん　います。そして、ねこが　います。　十一月二十七日に　わたしのおくにへ　かえりますから、うれしい　です。おくにで　たくさんおいしい　たべものをたべます。そして、わたしの　きょうだいといっしょに　こうえんへ　いきます。

While it has very little global significance, Thanksgiving is an American holiday that means valuable family time. And as a life-long vegetarian, I enjoy a turkey-free, family-filled Thanksgiving holiday.

Birthdays/おたんじょうびの日

わたしのいもうとのたんじょうびの日は　十一月（じゅういちがつ）１９日（じゅうきゅうにち）です。その日（ひ）にいもうとはきゅうさいになります。いもうとのたんじょうびの日にいわたしといもうとはセントラルパークに行きます。

Being away from home and family for so long a period of time can be a bit depressive. My eight-year-old sister, who's turning nine next month, has asked to come visit me here in New York and I'm very excited about having her here for a time, allowing me a bit of a break from serious college life.
